George Wallace is Writer-in-Residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace and a regular performer on the NYC poetry scene. He teaches writing and literature courses at Pace University in Manhattan and is the author of 24 chapbooks of poetry.  George reads, lectures and conducts workshops internationally, with upcoming or recent appearances at the Pollock-Krasner House, Mabel Dodge Luhan House, Beyond Baroque, Woody Guthrie Festival, Lowell Celebrates Kerouac Festival, Gordon Parks Museum, Dylan Thomas Centre, Robert Burns Centre,  Maddy Prior’s Stones Barn, Odradek and the John Steinbeck Center in Salinas Ca.  In 2003, he was named First Poet Laureate for Suffolk County, Long Island, NY.
